Truck is still sitting there waiting for it’s heart transplant but the new engine is ready to go in at least. Christmas was good. My cousin Duane and his wife were down for it so I got to catch up with him for a while. Other than that nothing much has happened. So if something crazy happens I’ll be sure to put it up here.

Don’t have any good pictures of it yet since the weather hasn’t been much good recently. But I can tell you a few things about it. I picked it up for $400 witch is a steal considering the shape it’s in for the year. I could easily sell it for more if I so desired. It’s an 1970 Moto-Ski Capri with a hirth 300 engine. Alot of it is all Origional. Only major thing that isn’t is the main seat cover. The backrest is still the origional Blue & White.

It’s a beautiful old sled and I hope to keep it in really good condition. I’d like to get an old beater sled to use so that this one stays mint but untill then I’ll just drive this one. Pictures hopefully to come soon!

So photagraphy has always been somthing I’ve been somewhat interested in. I’ve always wanted something artistic to do and I don’t really have the skill for drawing or painting. And lets just say my English isn’t always “up to par”. So recently I’ve started considering taking up photagraphy more seriously. Only as a hobby of course. So first things first, I need a camera. Of course I have a camera already (even thought I haven’t been able to find it for a few months) But it’s really not up to par, even my untrained eye can tell the image quality is poor. So first thing was first. I had to decide what I wanted, and how much I was willing to spend. I decided I wanted a Digital SLR and was willing to spend around $500. First I looked around online and didn’t really find to much that intersted me. So then came my next idea…

I decided I’d look around for a used camera. That way I could get a pretty good camera for a lower price. First place I looked of course was UsedPEI.com I visit the site pretty much everyday so of course it was the first place I looked. Unfortunatly there was nothing there that caught my eye either. So on to the next site, Kijji witch I frequent far less. Luckily under cameras the very first entry was Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. An Olympus Evolt E410 for only $500 OBO. Only three months old!

I emailed the guy and althought the reply was slow it did come eventually. The Previous owner is looking to upgrade to a more professional camera so wants to get rid of this one. He also sent some sample pics (witch I requested) of pictures the camera has taken. One of witch I’ll post below. Anyway I emailed him back to let him know I’m interested and to find out his address and when I’ll be able to go see/Purchase it. If all goes well I’ll be posting with a few pictures I’ve taken with my new camera sometime next week!

Toyota Tacoma - 4×4 6 speed manual with 4.0L v6. Everyone should have a nice 4×4 for the winter right. Truck probally wouldn’t be used in the summer. just in the winter when the weather is bad or iffy.

Toyota FJ Cruizer - 4×4 6 speed manual with 4.0L v6. This rig would be built as sorta an expedition rig. Lots of stuff for camping and surviving in the wilderness, rooftop tent and the like. (would not replace my 85)

Toyota Camry - 6 speed manual with 3.5L V6. Gotta have a daily Driver right. I’d use it year round for whenever I just need to get from point a to b or if it’s raining in the summer.

Dodge Viper - 6 speed manual with 8.4 L V10. Wow, What a toy. A good weather in the summer kinda toy. Gotta keep this thing mint!

Dodge Ram 5500 - 6 speed manual with 36.7L I6(cummings). With custom built box with welder, torch, toolbox and towing equpment. This thing would be built as a towing rig.

Alright so the truck finally went to the shop to get the engine looked at and well there was some bad news… It needs a new motor. So my plan as of right now (and of course this may change) is to go bigger and better. I’m looking for a truck with a 3.4L V6 to swap into mine. It’ll be a fair amount of work but I think it’ll be worth it

Of course I’m gonna need a set of wheels here shortly, I’ve gone without a way to drive myself around for far to long so… time to get the tercel inspected. But it’s not just gonna be inspected, I’m gonna add a few “Upgrades” add a nice push bar on the front. maybe a tube bumper on the back and some sliders. Once that’s all done top it off with a winch on the front. This is gonna be one bad ass tercel! Of course i’ll give her a nice simple flat black paint job and then paint “Winter Beater” across the trunk

Alright so I was on my powerbook working away in dreamweaver making a couple new pages. I decided to add a link in my sidebar. I went and edited it in fireworks, all was fine, clicked the done button and then bam… nothing happened, still no button on my sidebar. Try it again, still nothing. So I decide to quit and reopen dreamweaver. But when I tried to open it back up, it said there was a fatal error and I’d have to reinstall the software. So I decided to do just that. Only problem was… the installer wouldn’t work. So now it was time to restart the computor… didn’t help, finder kept restarting constantly I find my way into disk utility and fine out… ”This drive has reported a fatal hardware error to Disk Utility.” and thin it told me to retive as much data as possible off the drive and then replace it…

Well I’ve been considering getting a new MacBook for a little while now and I’ve got almost enouph cash saved up (will have enouph by the time the bill comes) So I figured now was as good a time as any so…

I decided to get the cables to allow me to hook it right up to my HDTV for my viewing pleasure

Untill then I swapped out the old 20GB Hard Drive from my iBook into the PowerBook so I have something to use till My new one arives, It’ll be nice to have all that extra Power and storage

I’m actually just gonna put the post I put on Yotatech

“Alright I’ve started to do quite the amount of work. As you can see I’ve taken the bed off the frame.

What I’ve started doing now is taking a wire wheel to the bottom of the bed, cleaning off the rust. Then I’m gonna coat it with bed liner, Flip it over, do the same to the inside of the bed and inside where my fenders will sit. Them paint the rest of it. After that I’ll probably move on to the frame/axels witch i’ll also wheel down and bed liner up. I’m also in the process of putting my new fenders on. and then bed linering the rockers and painting the rest of the cab. And probally a few other small things I’m forgetting right now.

I’ve also got that CD player installed and it’s been working great. You can see one of my patch metal sources, an old pressure tank I love having so much metal lying around, I’m gonna cut up an old boiler to patch the frame with too.”

So me and Mitchell went shopping in Ch’town today. And wow did we spend some serious coin (very little actual coins changed hands). At least if was allot of money for us. The funny thing is we never actually bought anything spur of the moment. All of it was stuff we’ve wanted to get for a little while.

First thing I got was a new CD deck for my truck with integrated iPod controll because the FM Transmitter just isn’t doing it for me anymore. I mean sure it’s handy to have but the audio quality isn’t exactly tops. Next it was time for us to head across the road to Canadian Tire because I wanted to pick up the Impact Socket Set that was on sale. Now I won’t need to borrow mitchs. And then Finally it was time to stop in to Hi Time Tack Shop on the way home. I finally got myself a pair of cowboy boots (similar to the one pictured above). Something I’ve really wanted for a while. Then I got a nice leather belt and a fancy ironic belt buckle for it. I don’t drink but I’m gonna be walking around with a flask on my belt.

And that’s just the stuff I got, I’m not even gonna get into what Mitchell got…
